Mike
Geringer is a Senior Consulting Associate with Global Resources
along with his responsibilities as a Managing Partner for
Geringer, Frayne & Associates, Inc., a global training and consulting
firm. In these capacities, Dr. Geringer has worked with executives
from organizations worldwide, including Nokia, Eastman Kodak,
Caterpillar, ITT Sheraton, California Highway Patrol, Rautaruukki,
Eastman Chemical, Envirotrust Technologies, Industry, Science
& Technology Canada, Economic Council of Canada, CalTrans, Lucent
Technologies, and NorTel. He brings more than twenty years of
training and consulting experience in the areas of strategic management,
international business, joint ventures and alliances, venture
capital, and mergers and acquisitions to his work with Global
Resources.
Dr.
Geringer also serves as Professor and Chair of the Global Strategy
and Law Area at California Polytechnic University. He has taught
at universities in the U.S., Canada, Poland, Hungary, Finland,
South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Australia, and South Africa.
Dr. Geringer has earned multiple teaching awards including the
"Dean's Team" Award at the University of Western Ontario, the
Faculty Excellence Award from Cal Poly's College of Business in
1994, and the College's Distinguished Teacher Award in 1996. He
received highest teaching evaluations from Bond University in
1996, the Korean Executive MBA Program in 1998, and Global School
of Business for 1998 and 1999. He received the University Distinguished
Teacher Award in 2000.
His
leadership activities in professional associations includes Founding
Chair for the Strategic Alliances Committee of the Licensing Executives
Society, Chair for the Academy of Management's International Management
Division, and Chair for both the International Business and the
Strategy divisions of the Administrative Sciences Association
of Canada. He serves on the editorial board of the Journal of
World Business, Journal of International Business Studies, Journal
of International Management, and Journal of East-West Business.He
has authored or edited 8 books and monographs (another book will
be published in 2001), over 95 published papers, and 35 case studies.
His research has received 11 "best paper" awards, including the
Decade Award for most influential article from the Journal
of International Business Studies. A recent study ranked him
as one of the 5 most-published authors in international strategy.
Dr.
Geringer received his B.S. from Indiana University and his MBA
and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Washington.
