Dr.
Lynn Metcalf is a Senior Consulting Associate with Global Resources
where she has designed and taught programs in high-tech marketing,
international marketing, and global electronic commerce. In addition
to her work with Global Resources, Dr. Metcalf has been
a faculty member at California Polytechnic State University since
1986; she joined Cal Poly after completing a Ph.D. in Marketing
and International Business from the University of South Carolina.
Dr. Metcalf's teaching experiences include assignments as a visiting
professor at the American Graduate School of International Management
in Phoenix, Arizona; at the Groupe Institut de Gestion Sociale
in Paris and Lyon, France; and at the Helsinki School of Economics
and Business Administration in Finland.
From
1995-1999, Dr. Metcalf was on leave from Cal Poly to serve as
Director of University Alliances for Royal Philips Electronics.
Based in Palo Alto, Dr. Metcalf's work focused on supporting new
business development for Philips. Her responsibilities included
building strategic alliances with world-class universities based
in the United States, and she worked closely with Stanford, Berkeley,
and MIT. Dr. Metcalf's consulting work has also included assignments
with Sun Microsystems and several high-tech start-ups in the San
Francisco Bay Area.
Dr.
Metcalf is a member of the International Industrial Marketing
and Purchasing Group (IMP) - a consortium of researchers from
nine universities in five European countries, Japan, and the United
States. The IMP investigates cross-cultural aspects of relationships
between producers and users in the three aforementioned major
markets of the world. Her current research interests are focused
on the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship and globalization.
In
addition to her Ph.D., Dr. Metcalf has a Masters in International
Management from the American Graduate School of International
Management and a BA from the University of Oregon. Dr. Metcalf
has traveled throughout Europe and Latin America. She speaks and
reads French and has capability in Spanish and German.
