Harry
Lane is a Senior Consulting Associate with Global Resources in
addition to his position as Darla and Frederick Brodsky Trustee
Professor in International Business at Northeastern University.
Prior to joining Northeastern University in September 1999, Professor
Lane was at the Richard Ivey School of Business
at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada for 23
years. He was the Associate Editor of the Journal of International
Business Studies for five years when it was located at Ivey. He
has been a Visiting Professor at Groupe HEC in France, the Koblenz
School of Corporate Management in Germany, the Helsinki School
of Economics and Business administration in Finland and IPADE
in Mexico. He teaches courses in Cross-Cultural Management, Valuing
and Managing Diversity, and Organizational Renewal and Change.
He is certified in the use of the Myers Briggs Type Inventory
(MBTI) and is functional in Spanish. Professor Lane received his
B.S. from the University of Massachusetts, MBA from Boston College
and DBA in Organizational Behavior from the Harvard Business School.
He
has authored or co authored four books and numerous articles,
and in the area of international business and cross-cultural management
he has written over 70 case studies. The fourth edition of the
text International Management Behavior (with J.J. DiStefano and
Martha L. Maznevski) was published in 2000. His articles have
appeared in the Journal of International Business Studies, Academy
of Management Review, Academy of Management Executive, Management
International Review, Organizational Dynamics, Journal of Business
Ethics, International Studies of Management and Organization,
Journal of Management Development, R & D Management and International
Journal of Organizational Analysis.
Professor
Lane's research interests are intercultural management and diversity
management as well as organizational learning and strategic renewal.
He is currently conducting research focusing on global new product
development. Professor Lane has been a consultant and faculty
member for numerous university and corporate courses and has engaged
in varied assignments and projects around the world. In addition
to Canada, Mexico, and Europe, he has completed projects in Chile,
Brazil, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Kenya, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
He has conducted diversity and cross-cultural training for Canadian
Imperial Bank of Commerce, Exxon Company International, Rensaeleer
Polytecnic Institute, Groupe Schneider North America and a consortium
of Mexican companies including Cemex, Modelo, Alfa, IMSA and AXA.
